First Year Accommodation for DCU Students

DCU provide accommodation for incoming first years on both the DCU Glasnevin & DCU St Patricks Campuses. There are also a number of off-campus purpose built student accommodation options near DCU.

Accommodation options available for first years DCU students

Glasnevin Campus

Current undergraduate students are allocated rooms in Hampstead and Larkfield Apartments on the Glasnevin campus. The residences are served by a central reception, run by Campus Residences On-campus accommodation available to full-time DCU students.

Hampstead Apartments contain sixty-one comfortable apartments, each with five ensuite bedrooms, and a shared living/kitchen/dining area. Each apartment comprises four single ensuite rooms and one double ensuite room for single occupancy. Each bedroom has a study area and both wifi and internet access (internet cable not provided).  A telephone (incoming calls only) is provided in the living area of each apartment.

 

 

 

Larkfield Accommodation  Contains 2 single rooms that share a bathroom and a kitchenette. Each bedroom has a study area and both wifi and internet access. There are 295 units in Larkfield and this block is designated to all incoming first-year students. While every effort will be made to accommodate you in your preferred housing location, final room allocations will only be possible after timetables are issued and the actual level of accommodation required is known in September/October. At that stage, it may be necessary to house you in a different block than your first choice

 

 

St Patrick’s College

This accommodation is single room occupancy, with a single bed, study desk, internet access, bookshelves, wardrobe, and wash hand basin. Students share bathroom facilities with several students on their floor. Each house has a common room with TV and kitchen facility.  The accommodation is self-catering. Each kitchen is fitted with the following: Electric hobs, Fridge, Freezer, Microwave oven, water boiler and built-in storage units. The common room consists of seating areas with coffee tables and TV for all students to enjoy.

Accommodation Options

There are two alternatives to choose from: Long Term and Short Term.

Long Term

Consists of the regular accommodation option, where you can choose between applying for either Semester 1 or Semester 2, or for the Full Academic Year.

Start Date for Long Term: 23rd September 2020
Any student requiring accommodation earlier than 23rd Sept, please contact campus.residences@dcu.ie.

Short Term

This option has a wide range of rate options and room services.To help as many students as possible when choosing accommodation, options are split into three categories:

  1. Room Only
  2. Bed & Breakfast – B&B
  3. Dinner, Bed & Breakfast – DBB

Under each of these categories, you are able to choose between 1-6 Nights Stay, Weekly Stay or 4 Weeks Stay.
